Today

Do not be distracted

by the insistent,

the rude, or the ways of this world

and its people.

Withdraw

Come aside and worship God.

Momentarily or for an extended

gathering of time.

Know that minutes or hours given

and received are never wasted as you sit at Christ’s feet.

Gather

You will gather strength.

You will be refreshed.

For the journey may be long

but the destination is sure.

Focus

Focus on the fact that God loves you

and that man no matter how well meaning

can never fill the void that life without Christ provides.

God is able to fill the void

and comfort you with peace and joy.

God is God

Be still and know

that God is God.

Know

In the knowing

may God flood your life

and mind with His peace

which passes understanding.

In Jesus name. Amen.

🌻Debbie

Vlog: An Encouragement to Persevere

Encouragement to Persevere
debbieturnerchavers.com

I have noticed that when we start a new beneficial thing that there is often opposition. Yet, prevail. There is a push and pull in this life. At times you push yourself through and at other times you are pulled. God tells us not to be weary in well doing, for in due time we will reap. This deals with the spiritual as well as the physical. All action has a reaction. Persevere.

May God bless you,
🌻Debbie

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due time we shall reap, if we faint not.

Doors

Water-man Series

Will you be a house of holiness? Will you allow the LORD access to every room of your mind and body?
Every corner? Every locked door?

The Word of God and the Holy Spirit of God will sweep each room clean and fill them with beauty.
You hold the keys. Your will, your choice.
Obey. Ask and receive.
God has redeemed you, yet He will not forcibly enter your locked doors. He stands at the door and knocks. Open the door.
What we give up is never equal to the treasure and freedom we receive in Christ Jesus.

Singing Encouragement-Overcoming Fear

Never forget God loves you, we all have opportunity to start again, to call upon His name. Sometimes, obedience involves vulnerability. Mine. Overcoming fear.
I am singing 🎶 with Jeremy Camp’s song “Getting Started”

~Debbie

Prayer:
Father God, thank you for the wooing of your Holy Spirit. Thank you that you never forget us, thank you that you want us. Open our eyes to see ourselves the way that you see us in Your Son, Jesus Christ.
In Jesus name. Amen

Lyrics for this song
Getting Started
Are you running 'round in circles with no place to go?
Is there a person in the mirror you don't even know?Someone still sees who you are, yeahWere you the kid that was a dreamer, now you don't believe? Are you the lock that got so broken, now you lost the key?Someone still loves who you are, yeah
To anyone who ever lost your wayTo everyone who ever felt ashamedHere's a song for all the broken heartedI believe you're only getting startedTo anyone who trusts in Jesus' nameWatch your world become forever changedHere's a song about light from darknessI believe you're only getting started
If you only knew the treasure that you really areIf you could understand the measure of the Father's heartHe loves you, He loves you, He loves youFall in His arms and let Him wash you cleanHe'll tear off the chains so that you can be freeA new life begins and the old is redeemedOh, I believe, yeah
To anyone who ever lost your wayTo everyone who ever felt ashamedHere's a song for all the broken heartedI believe you're only getting startedTo anyone who trusts in Jesus' nameWatch your world become forever changedHere's a song about light from darknessI believe you're only getting started
Oh, oh, oh, ohOh, oh, ohOh, oh
He loves you, He loves you, He loves youOh, oh, oh, oh oh ohOh, oh, oh, ohOh, ohHe loves you, He loves you, He loves you
To anyone who ever lost your wayTo everyone who ever felt ashamedHere's a song for all the broken heartedI believe you're only getting startedTo anyone who trusts in Jesus' nameWatch your world become forever changedHere's a song about light from darknessI believe you're only getting started

Freely You Have Received

Close-up

1 Thessalonians 2: 4-6
But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloak of covetousness; God is witness:
Nor of men, sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.

The Word of the Lord quickens our understanding. As I consider the written Word I am reminded of a natural meal that has been prepared. Many ingredients and much labor has been bestowed for the meal set before me. Ingredients naturally taste unique, yet each cook brings a flavor profile with their cooking style. Do not fail to share the meal because you judge yourself to be a subpar cook. The ingredients are superb, with practice your presentation can and will mature.
We are called to share the gospel of Christ with others. At times the meal of His word is prepared and served from home and at times it is shared at a gathering else where.
The point is to feed the hungry.
Do not force feed those who are not hungry. Prepare the meal, aka ..study to show yourself approved. Set the table whether it is “buffet style” or “sit down”, pass the bread and the salt around the table.
You have been given the best ingredients contained in God’s word to serve a dying generation.
Do what you can, when you can. Those who are hungry will eat. Those who are not hungry...will criticize.

The provision is there. Prepare and serve.

You Are Well Able

I am blessed by Jesus’ testimony of the woman who anointed Him and washed His feet with her tears.
He said, “ She hath done what she could.”

Do what You can.
~Debbie

Mark 14:8-9 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.
Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

Sweet Encouragement

Last night I observed a wonderful thing about honey. If you put several teaspoons of honey in a bowl and cover it with several teaspoons of water and swirl, an amazing thing is revealed. As you swirl the water rapidly over the honey it will image / return to its original honeycomb shape.
As I did the experiment I was reminded of the scripture in 2 Timothy to stir up the gift of God within me because our DNA is in the image of God.

Persevere. Stir up. Press forward into your destiny.

~Debbie

Genesis1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

2 Timothy 1:6-7
Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear: but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Adventure Awaits

Every road leads somewhere. Where are you going?
Straight ahead? Adventure awaits. Whether you step off the road or follow the well defined, well traveled road ahead. Adventure awaits.

It waits. Get going.

Plough and Prepare

© 2005 Debbie Turner Chavers

Life requires the skill of patience. Living life spiritually and physically is a process of planting and harvesting.
Whether we are working in another field or working our own field, there will be moments of sorrow and days of joy.
So plant, the harvest will come.

On hot laborious days we can be weary as we look for even a hint of harvest.
As we break up the hard soil of "self", we must ask the Lord for the rain of His Spirit.
At times, the fields of our endeavor, aka. self and others may not have appeared to have been watered to our natural eyes.
Yet, rejoice, for regular early morning dew has been received in times of darkness.
His Light has risen and left a mist of refreshment, making tender the seed planted.

The fields are white unto harvest. Plough, prepare, labor.
We who labor are breaking up and passing out the broken pieces of our stories of redemption.
We are planting for His glory, His alone.
Like the young boy with the loaves and fishes, we bring to Christ what we have.
Then we tarry and abide as He blesses and multiplies the Harvest as He sees fit.
Work, while it is yet day.

~Debbie

John 6:9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

John 4:35-36 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both
he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

James 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waitheth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

Everything

Genesis Chapter 1-2, And God Said, Let There Be
© 2004 Debbie Turner Chavers
Art Parable

The majority of people do not realize the importance of their daily actions.
Therefore a spirit of excellence can be diminished by a lack of knowledge.
The knowledge, that we were created for purpose.
That our destiny and purpose is eternal.
Do not allow a misled or poor mindset to rob you of the benefit of living your life with excellence.
We need to see ourselves and our daily walk in this world as important.
I want to remind you and encourage you to post this reminder somewhere where it becomes settled in your heart and mind.
I have painted it on a small decorative plaque on display in my kitchen.

Remember everything you do today is important and makes an eternal difference.

You are loved and were born for such a time as this.
God does not make mistakes.
His ways are perfect and planned.
You were part of His plan.  Psalm 139

Everything done or not done has eternal consequences.
If you keep this in mind as you live your daily life you will begin to see the smallest things
connect to a life well lived.

Practical example...dirty dishes.
Dirty dishes can be a sign that there was nourishment provided and eaten.
The cleaning up gives you an opportunity to show another the value of taking care of what has been provided by God.
The putting away of the dishes shows a sense of order to those watching your actions.

Each action we take is an opportunity to do what we do as unto the LORD, with purpose and excellence.

Our spirit man thrives with order.
God made us in His image and He has order and purpose as He creates.
Read Genesis 1and 2 for an example.

I am asking you, as well as myself to be thoughtful and thankful.
To remember...to think on...
Everything you do today is important and makes an eternal difference.

~Debbie

The Safety Pin

The Safety Pin
© 2010 Debbie Turner Chavers

At times, small issues can seem enormous. Life and other people can seem petty.
When this occurs, an adjustment of attitude, some sort of mental hug is in order.

My first inclination during dry spells is to retreat. To spend time alone, or with my husband.
Avoiding contact with others, until I can see the positive in people once again with God's help.
But last week God had a different plan and did not wait long to share it with me by allowing my button to fall off my pants!

This was one of those times in life when my glass was not half empty or half full.
IT WAS JUST EMPTY!!

I needed encouragement, a mental hug. A renewal.
My hug came through the gift of a safety pin.

After a hectic start on my first full day of vacation, the last thing I needed was a button to fall off my pants! Or so I thought.
This small aggravation left me exposed in my clothing choice and in attitude.
After packing for vacation what would have sufficed for almost any occasion, I still lacked a sewing kit or a safety pin.
What to do now?

My answer came as I approached the sink in the store bathroom to wash my hands.
As I came near the sink, I heard and saw a woman muttering and fussing to no one in general. She stood at the sink watching me in the mirror as I approached.
Noticing that I was still being watched, I explained briefly, that my button had fallen off as I stooped to retrieve it from the floor. She said nothing in return.

Momentarily, I paused to smile at her and turned to leave when I heard her mutter something in my direction.
"Here" she said abruptly, as she extended her hand toward me.
She was offering me a bent safety pin which had seen better days.

It was a small, silver, safety pin.
Yet it appeared jewel like, extended in the hand of a stranger. Just what I needed.
She appeared embarrassed by her offer of help and awkwardly returned my joyful hug as I thanked her.
She smiled and gave me a firm hug back..... no longer muttering.

I had a great vacation with many blessings but the gift of the safety pin is definitely a memory I will treasure.
The act of kindness to a stranger from a stranger helped restore more than my gaping waistband, it helped pin back together my bruised desire to be an encouragement and help others.
From the smallest gift, we can encourage one another to press on. Do not doubt your ability or your gifts to make a difference today.

Being held together by His Love,
~Debbie
