1 Thessalonians 2: 4-6
But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloak of covetousness; God is witness:
Nor of men, sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.
The Word of the Lord quickens our understanding. As I consider the written Word I am reminded of a natural meal that has been prepared. Many ingredients and much labor has been bestowed for the meal set before me. Ingredients naturally taste unique, yet each cook brings a flavor profile with their cooking style. Do not fail to share the meal because you judge yourself to be a subpar cook. The ingredients are superb, with practice your presentation can and will mature.
We are called to share the gospel of Christ with others. At times the meal of His word is prepared and served from home and at times it is shared at a gathering else where.
The point is to feed the hungry.
Do not force feed those who are not hungry. Prepare the meal, aka ..study to show yourself approved. Set the table whether it is “buffet style” or “sit down”, pass the bread and the salt around the table.
You have been given the best ingredients contained in God’s word to serve a dying generation.
Do what you can, when you can. Those who are hungry will eat. Those who are not hungry...will criticize.
The provision is there. Prepare and serve.
