To Those in Christ Jesus

Be A Light,He Went That Way
© 2010 Debbie Turner Chavers

Come into the light.
Are we inviting others into the mist or into the light Of God’s Word?
Is our daily interaction with others a mixture of dark and light?
A mist, a gray area?
Or are we inviting them into His light?

There is a boundary established in our relationship with God. This boundary of His Way and our own way. The clear presentation of His Word by His Spirit brings clarity and comfort to our hearts and minds.
He is light and there is no darkness in Him. We expect Him to be the Light and He is the Light.

As a light bearer others should not be left in darkness or confusion by our witness of Christ in us.
We leave others confused when we waver in our morals or walk out our faith with a lackadaisical attitude toward our own sin or the sin of others.
Light reveals hope in Christ and warms and warns the repentant.

Others may reject our attempt to be a light in the darkness. Some have sat so long in the dark that the intensity of the Light takes a few minutes for the souls eyes to adjust.

But adjust they will, as the light reveals the hidden things of our hearts. Speak truth. Speak life.
The truth received sets men free and the application of Gods’ truth allows us to walk in the Spirit instead of the flesh.

Be a light, even if only a night light, until the Daystar shines brighter and brighter unto your and their new day.

~Debbie

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 1:19
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

Walk in the Light

Walk in the light you have received.  A single sentence flashed in my understanding as we took communion this morning. A brief flash of light reflected across my face as the Communion container was being opened and my thoughts went to 1John 1:5-7.

Walking in the light you have received, consider with me, 1John 1:1-10.
As you read these scriptures, think about the Body and Blood of Christ Jesus. Our taking of communion, and that through this gift, that we have been given the ability to look upon and handle, the Word of life.

Christ death and resurrection are revealed and manifested in us as we obey and remember what He has done.
That through His sacrifice on the Cross, Christ has given you and I, a clear path to the Father.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. (John14:6)
Communion, to dwell upon what He has accomplished through His obedient sacrifice for you and I.
Walk in the light, for in Him is no darkness at all.
Jesus said, "Do this in remembrance of me." (Luke 22:19) (1 Corinthians 11:24-25)

Walk in the Light that God has revealed to you. Today, I have been led to think on the privilege of taking communion. The cost which was borne by Christ and freely given to me and all who desire to receive Him.
I pray that as He lights your path and your understanding that you also will take the time to think on those things which are pure and lovely and of good report.(Philippians 4:8)

1John 1:1-10

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

I Am Learning

Daily I am given opportunities to stretch my capacity in understanding and applying the principles of God's word. There is a dynamic shift of thought when I realize and apply subtle adjustments in my daily way of life to His Way. It can be a discarded area of unbelief, a critical attitude, and the list could be longggggg!
Yet these changes give us an opportunity to grow. To grow personally, emotionally, and spiritually in our relationships with one another and the world at large.
A granted opportunity to learn to do well.
It is a beautiful, inspiring purpose to live life as God intended.
I am learning.
Mistakes abound in my walk of faith, yet I don't have to run to keep up, for the Lord's hand is ever present and He never leaves or forsakes me.

I am learning to recognize the pitfalls of my own perception. Every man's way is right in his own eyes. Proverbs 16:2
I have experienced this truth in my own walk.
As I have studied God's word and applied it to everyday life it has illuminated areas of gray and darkness in my own perceptions.
In thought and in deed I was not as grounded as I thought and was too impulsive.
I have been quick to give love yet also quick to judge. Both are out of order without grace and godly discernment.
Therefore, the gift of love is to be weighed, measured and dispensed by the Great Physician.
We are carrying the prescription within us. We must dispense with care and with knowledge.

As a light bearer of God's love, I do not want to shock or jolt others that draw near in fellowship or friendship. Therefore, I (we) must stay plugged in, hiding God's word in my (our) heart and mind to be balanced in a world that can be full of doubt and unbelief.
For it is this people and this world that Christ Jesus came to redeem.
Being mindful, that if I (we) allow offense, pettiness, or carnal lifestyle to manifest it is like a cut or exposure in an electrical line. We must not allow the power of God within us to be exposed to others in a harmful way. There should not be rogue electricity, but stable lines of love and communication.
We must walk in truth and love. The world is watching. We are His own and we are "representing."
God is our source and illuminator in all things. He is light and there is no darkness in Him. I am in Christ and Christ is in me.

"Representing"

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

1 John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Lights

© 2010 Debbie Turner Chavers

Whether the time of His Coming tarries or is upon us quickly, we are to labor in the fields until then.
What is your gift?  Where is your talent?  Is it hidden? If so, pull yourself and it from under the bushel and out of the valley.
The rest of us NEED you.  Show up.  This is not a dress rehearsal, the stage is set and the curtain has torn. The morning star has risen and we wait for His return.

Do not let the world, a religious or politically correct mindset, or wolves extinguish your light. SHINE.

Read Daniel 12:3

Jesus said...
Matthew 5:14-16  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

~Debbie

Revelation 22:16  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches.  I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

We ought not to court publicity for our virtue, or notoriety for our zeal; but, at the same time, it is a sin to be always seeking to hide that which God has bestowed upon us for the good of others.  A Christian is not to be a village in a valley, but a "city set upon a hill," he is not to be a candle under a bushel, but a candle in a candlestick, giving light to all.
