Your Gift Matters

© 2016 Debbie Turner Chavers
Water-Man Series

I want to encourage you in the LORD concerning the gift and sharing of your purpose in Christ Jesus while you are living in your appointed time on this Earth.

Perhaps your gift is hospitality. Perhaps it is the creative arts, singing, writing, cooking, helps, or one of the many gifts I have not written here.

Often we admire another persons gift yet demean or act dismissive toward our own gifting. Yet your gift is as unique as your finger print. This is a marvelous thing.

Yes, you have been created for such a time as this. Use your gift.

Offer it unto the LORD. Whatever large, small, fractured or whole gifting you possess.

Give it to God.

Human reasoning would deter us. Yet the Holy Spirit prompts us to give whatever gift we have been given, to share it, to lay it at the feet of Christ.

Every time I meet difficulty or darkness, the Holy Spirit says “praise”. This will mean a purposeful immediate response to obey. I pick up a tambourine, sing, or speak forth the Word of God to move forward in the call.  The Holy Spirit is ever wooing us, reminding us, drawing us in the LORD.

Do not ignore His Prompt. Your footsteps are ordered of the Lord. Move forward.

I am always reminded of Paul and Silas (Acts 16) when He prompts me to praise. There is always a prison of some sort seeking to lock us away, to deter, to shut us down.

May we ever be found faithfully obeying God who opens and sends forth angels to open all prison doors that have enclosed God’s children. In Jesus name. Amen.

Every captive set free, in Jesus Christ.

Seek God

© 2006 Debbie Turner Chavers

When you are feeling directionless, seek God.
Spend time in His word, talk to Him.
Determine to grow up and to mature beyond your own self-determined limitations.
We need to quit listening to our own negative self-talk and seek God’s word concerning us.
Quit trying to comprehend God outside of His Word.
God Word reveals TRUTH, the Truth you need to navigate through your questionable feelings.

Poetry: Spun Free

I ran across the field
Rejoicing in the light
As all the spiders took flight
Caught on the wind
webs tendriled and pulled
the spiders to earth again
Whilst I gathered dreams
And spun with delight

Difficult Times, Difficult People

Dealing with difficult times and difficult people can fertilize our growing faith if we plant ourselves in God’s unfailing Word.

My natural perception when confronted with obnoxious behavior has had me emulate “love toward others.” This train of thought can be manifested in unhealthy ways when the wisdom of God is not followed.  An untamed heart or spirit defies spiritual gravity, as rebellion seeks to pull us away from the stability of peace and cast us into chaos.
Yet, we can learn to navigate peacefully as the Holy Spirit shows the way to respond in everyday life situations.
What I have perceived as love in my interactions with others has prompted me to seek God as I attempt to rationalize how I should act/react as a Christ follower.  The only real way to know how to handle most situations properly is to search scripture. (Galatians 5:7-26)
From Old Testament to New Testament our weak flesh wants an easy answer.
Not...
Matthew 10:34-38 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth  son or daughter more than me is not not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and follow after me, is not worthy of me.

When I researched the word “cross” in this scripture, Strong’s Concordance definition stated it as “an upright stake”
I am reminded of a boundary stake, a fence line.
The sword of the Lord, God’s Word cuts through our excuses and cuts away the unnecessary to expose the root of our affections and the base of our actions.

John 15:1-5  I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he take the away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

In my natural understanding, love looks sweet, giving, turning the other cheek, etc.. yet righteousness requires obedience. My flesh seeks to excuse and to be excused. We are not to cater to the wicked or the wicked one. Our actions must mirror our understanding of God. Lest we and they be deceived into thinking that God is like mere man. God is just and a Holy God who does not wink at our or their agreement with the wicked one.  (James 1)

If you struggle with being permissive as I have, I encourage you to pray this prayer with me. Learning to love ourself and others, places healthy boundaries that are reinforced by God’s word.

~Debbie

Father God, I ask that you open my eyes of understanding. That you would enable me to stand firm in your truth. Father God that I will not be moved by that which I hear or see that would attempt to move me from my focus and obedience in Christ Jesus.
LORD grant us strength for our earthly journey. Anoint us LORD. May we be rooted and grounded in your Word. May we be well able to successfully and with joy, do that which you have called and anointed us to do, to walk in love with ourselves and others. Help us to trust you LORD with all our heart, to lean not on our own understanding but in all our ways to acknowledge you and you shall direct our paths. In Jesus name, Amen

Pray- There Is Power In Agreement

Prayer is our love language in our relationship with our Father.
There is a quiet strength that grows within you from depending on and leaning on God.
A strength that roars with faith and stands with arms raised and heart submitted, even when we have yet to see the outcome of our prayers.

Pray, speak forth God’s word. There is power in agreement in the natural and in the spiritual.
Agree with God.
His word shall not fail and will accomplish what God said.
Know that you are loved and that it is your Father’s pleasure to withhold no good thing from you.

Treasures: Big Box, Little Box

Most people live in a house. Varying sizes, different styles. Over my life time I have lived in a car,(homeless), a trailer, an apartment, a duplex, a rental and a sticks and bricks home.
In all these places I have collected my version or my family’s version of treasures.

Most of us love our stuff and continue to collect that which gives us pleasure throughout our lives.
Even King Solomon listed the lifetime collection he had gathered in Ecclesiastes 2.
Those things which he had built and acquired over the years.
And yet nothing he acquired went with him in the end. Nothing.
Nor will we take any physical thing with us at the end of our lives.
The earthly thing or things we fill our time, life, and homes with will stay and go the way of all the Earth.

As I contemplated this information the Lord showed me a visual of what He was speaking to my heart, which I am now sharing with you from the pages of my journal.

Journal Entry of Debbie Turner Chavers 2022

God has given us good things to enjoy but it is necessary to keep our eyes on the Eternal.
We shall not pass this way again.
Consider Ecclesiastes 2 where Solomon considers the futility of pleasure and possessions.
Jesus told us in Luke 12 that it is foolish to lay up earthly treasures for ourselves yet not be rich toward God. You are loved and it is your Father’s good pleasure to provide all things for us.
Focus on Him, He Will take care of us.

*The summation was that people spend their whole life filling up a big box, ie their home with perceived treasures. Yet, in the end they move to an empty little box, ie coffin or urn.

Choose wisely,
 ~Debbie

Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt and where thieves break through and steal.
Matthew 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasure in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.
Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

A door that no man can shut
A life that only Christ could redeem

Prayer for Realigned Focus

© 1999 Debbie Turner Chavers

At times
strength arrives
in drops of liquid peace as I worship.
Arms extended, heart submitted upward
I reach to be cradled
by the strong arms of peace that sustain me.
By God’s love that restores and renews me.

Praying the Word of God will settle the waves assaulting your peace.
The Word of God will reveal the false narrative that floats you into storm filled seas.
Be still and know.
Prayer can refocus us when we have been blown off course by the cares of this world and the spiritual intensity of daily life.
Spend time with God. He welcomes you and delights that you are seeking Him.

Prayer and worship can strengthen you in your journey here on this Earth.
Take time to be still and know that God is God
The surrender of self to realignment will strip you of false layers, preparing you to rest in the warmth of the LORD’s peace and care.

A moment of prayerful focus can realign your day or night. Why not take a moment as you are reading or listening to this to agree in prayer with me for restoration and the hope filled peace given by God.

~Debbie

🙏
Father God, thank you that nothing presents an impossibility to you.
You, Father are well able to accomplish every good work within me.
May your beauty of redemption be seen in me and my situation.
In Jesus name. Amen

Flame of Recognition in Light of Eternity

For the Joy Set Before Him
 © 2019 Debbie Turner Chavers
Water-Man Series
Hebrews 12:2

Today decide.
Who will YOU serve?
Yourself or the LORD?
We are to have singleness of heart toward our Redeemer.
All we have and all we are is due to God.
He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to pay in full for our redemption.
Do not fear the emptying of self.
For God will fill you to over flowing with His Holy Spirit if you will receive Him.
There is a fear in those gathered in mankind of a usurpation.
Rightfully so, because someone HAS taken our place.
Jesus Christ has taken our place and borne our transgressions away.

Men of flesh and bone fear failure and possess a strong need for recognition.
This desire for recognition can strip a person of giving back to God the enablement that He gave to us.
We cling to our gifts with soulful remorse, acknowledging only minutely the value received.
We strive to hang on to our gifting, instead of letting go.
Our heart of pride recognizes the gift within, but quickly shuts the box and ties the bow as though we have not seen His glory.
What are we thinking?
What are we doing?
We carefully guard our perceived value, intending to be paid well...for that which we have been freely given. The gifts we have received were Paid in Full by our Redeemer.

We are His children.  A witness for God in a lost, deceived and dying world.
No man knows the day or the hour of Christ's return.
Be found faithful, be diligent.
He gave all for you and I.
Can we give less?
Consider John 10:10 which says "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

A house divided can not stand.
We are the tabernacle of God.
The Lord calls us to wholeness in Him.
Work and give, while it is yet day.

John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

Matthew 21:28-45

Church, Bride of Christ Jesus, Be about your Father's business.
~Debbie

Matthew 10:8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Revelation 21:6  And he said unto me, It is done.  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Are You Thirsty?

Isaiah 45:13  I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.

Hebrews 9:11-14  But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot  to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Acts 15:16-17  After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:
That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
