Plough and Prepare

© 2005 Debbie Turner Chavers

Life requires the skill of patience. Living life spiritually and physically is a process of planting and harvesting.
Whether we are working in another field or working our own field, there will be moments of sorrow and days of joy.
So plant, the harvest will come.

On hot laborious days we can be weary as we look for even a hint of harvest.
As we break up the hard soil of "self", we must ask the Lord for the rain of His Spirit.
At times, the fields of our endeavor, aka. self and others may not have appeared to have been watered to our natural eyes.
Yet, rejoice, for regular early morning dew has been received in times of darkness.
His Light has risen and left a mist of refreshment, making tender the seed planted.

The fields are white unto harvest. Plough, prepare, labor.
We who labor are breaking up and passing out the broken pieces of our stories of redemption.
We are planting for His glory, His alone.
Like the young boy with the loaves and fishes, we bring to Christ what we have.
Then we tarry and abide as He blesses and multiplies the Harvest as He sees fit.
Work, while it is yet day.

John 6:9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

John 4:35-36 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both
he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

James 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waitheth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
