My Poetry

Grief is not black.
It is the color of every memory,
of every time and space spent with you.
A kaleidoscope of negatives
and positives that turn daily.
Never forgotten, yet shades of change as each new day rises.

So hope was a slow fade in
Colors muted
Sky gray

Then your Word was spoken.

Life rattled
I rolled
Bits and pieces of happiness
Sprinkled like glitter
Across scattered fears

I ran across the field
Rejoicing in the light
As all the spiders took flight
Caught on the wind
webs tendriled and pulled
the spiders to earth again
Whilst I gathered dreams
and spun with delight.

Loves peace
Can be a song of silence
A breath held
Until hope is expelled soft
in whispered relief.
