Adopt: A Home For Timmy

Timmy
Picture taken from Rich Faith Rising blog

Today I want to encourage someone to adopt Timmy. Timmy is a 12 year old young man who has an excellent attitude and an interest in art and life. In China a child must be adopted before the age of 14.
Timmy's Chinese name is Taotao and he needs a forever home now. There are funds available to help toward the cost of adoption for Timmy. There is a $5,000 grant available from the Baobei Foundation and $2,000 from the Jeff Knipe family.
When Timmy was asked if he wanted a permanent family, he replied "I would love too but one has not shown up yet."
Is this child yours? Is he the child that is missing at your family table? If he is, he is waiting. Don't start dinner without him.

Those who have worked with Timmy and have helped him are amazed at his perseverance and wonderful attitude.
*Timmy was born in 2003 in the Hunan Providence. He was abandoned shortly after he was born and has lived at a welfare center called Spring Service Center Sunbird Home in HengYang City (湖南省衡阳市春天服务中心太阳鸟之家ICC)  his entire life.
In 2015 Timmy became ill and was diagnosed with a large brain tumor. Since that time he has been operated on to remove the tumor and has regained his many of his gross and fine motor skills. He has re-learned how to walk and talk, functions which were damaged by the tumor. He is now walking around unassisted and he has re-learned how to feed himself, speak in complete sentences, and read and write Chinese well.

Another bit from the Baobei Foundation about Timmy from Feb. 2015

ASTOUNDING! - At Baobei we have seen time and again how genuine love and care can be a critical part of the healing process and can lead to miraculous results. Even so, we continue to be astounded anew every time we see this in action. Shanghai native, Alicia, and her mother spent their Chinese New Year holiday lavishing motherly and grandmotherly care on Taotao and gently supporting him through post-surgical therapy. You may remember only one month ago Taotao was on the verge of death, and only two and a half weeks ago Taotao was largely unresponsive and immobile after removal of a large brain tumor. Now, after ample doses of encouragement, lots of gentle nudging, and endless reading sessions by Alicia, her mom, and other volunteers, Taotao has flourished emotionally and regained much of his gross and fine motor skills. He is now feeding himself, speaking in complete sentences, reading and writing Chinese again, walking around unassisted, and laughing and joking every chance he gets. He has also discovered a new interest--Chinese weiqi.  We have lots to learn from this good-natured, courageous, cooperative, fun-loving, humorous and positive boy who says at each stage of his recovery, "Let me try. I need to challenge myself." Thank you to Alicia, her mom, Liz, Jessica, Jeannette, Brooke, Jingyi, Thomas, Michael and the many other volunteers who have been part of Taotao's remarkable recovery.

Pray and Praise

© 2012 Debbie Turner Chavers
Water-Man series

For the LORD our God is able.
In every prayer I am keeping this in mind...taking every other thought that rises against the knowledge of Christ Jesus, captive. My confession is..For the LORD our God is able. My banner of love and His song over me and you.
In church Sunday morning as I was worshipping the Lord, I heard Him say, "Sing until the breakthrough". Oh! I pray this ministers to you as powerfully as it did to me.
Battles are waged as you sing unto the Lord. As you praise Him even in the midst of what looks to be dead or done. It is never over until He who gives the BREATH of life says it is FINISHED. Remember the cross and He who hung on it and rose again in victory, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
I am sure the Spirit of God is reminding you of all the Old and New Testament confirmations of battles where the praisers and praises went before the battle. He inhabits our praises and He goes before us.
Praise Him, He is worthy of ALL our praise.
His Spirit confirmed in my spirit with the Word and then a brother in Christ, Pastor Allen taught on the encouragement I had received.
After we sat down from our time of singing and worshipping, the Pastor shared Acts 16:22-26 in his morning message. Verse 25 and 26 : About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone's chains came loose.
Is it the midnight hour of your situation?
Pray and praise. You might feel rumbling earth movement initially, but press in, press on, pray and praise until those doors fly open and the chains fall off.
Pray for me as I am praying for you. Many midnight situations, but morning light is on the horizon. Be encouraged, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in this world.
We are loved and we are heard by the LORD our God who is able.

~Debbie

No Condemnation but Correction

© Debbie Turner Chavers

There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, but there is correction. We are sons and daughters of the LORD. It is the love of our Heavenly Father who chastens us and conforms us into the image of His Son. At times the gifts of God in us is used to correct us and sometimes He allows His gift in others to bring small corrections in our daily path in the course of our days. Most times we assume correction is a whooping...but usually it is more of a time out. A setting aside, a Selah pause to stop what we are currently doing and consider the correction. God is very tender hearted toward us and the leading of the Holy Spirit is gentle. I am referencing the term of correction as a form of direction. Direction toward or away from a known way or a determined path. As children of God we do not order our footsteps. The Lord does and has a plan in place for us before we were born. Psalm 37 and 139. When a captain is steering a ship there are small corrections to stay on course in a sea that appears to have no lanes.
Yet a skillful captain knows the boundaries unseen by most. A path has been charted, coordinates considered and followed through to arrive at the intended destination.
Our life on this earth is like a ship with The Lord as our Captain. He is the Way and has not only gone before us but ever intercedes on our behalf for our individual charted course on the ocean of life. If you have received correction..rejoice that the God who created all things has you in the palm of His hand and that the wind of His Spirit is gently bringing you to the desired port on Earth as well as the final destination of home in Heaven.

Romans 8:1
Hebrews 12:5-6
Chastisement as correction
-Outline of Biblical Usage: the whole training and education of children (which relates to the cultivation of mind and morals, and employs for this purpose now commands and admonitions, now reproof and punishment)
*It also includes the training and care of the body whatever in adults also cultivates the soul, esp. by correcting mistakes and curbing passions.
*instruction which aims at increasing virtue chastisement, chastening, (of the evils with which God visits men for their amendment)

Romans 12:1-21
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable, unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Art Parable Painting series-Light and Shadow 1 and 2

I have been studying Ephesians 6 for a while now. I have completed two art parables of the Light and Shadow series. We are in a real war daily, unseen by most, yet evident to those in the battle.  Remember God will NEVER leave or forsake you.
Not if, but when the enemy comes in like a flood, remember your Savior Jesus Christ has overcome the forces of Hell and has secured your freedom and victory. We are more than conquers through Christ Jesus. Christ has given us a sure victory. We have the word of our testimony and the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ.
We are composed of mind,body, spirit and soul, submit it all to God.

Ephesians 6:10-18
Water-Man Series

In version one the imagery is holding on..do not let go of the salvation that has been accomplished in you. In version 2 it is a reminder of the Water-Man in the keyhole of Ye Must Be Born Again (click here) to see it. In this version they have been born again and are walking in their blood bought freedom. From darkness to His glorious light. Redeemed.
Consider- Acts 5:15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

The thought is that we see one another as a Water-man, the blue figure which represents us, but as I studied I was shown a duplicate spiritually. I have painted it as I saw it. The blue Water-man is how we see one another, but the blood covering and what Christ has done for us is the shadow image. I believe it is how we are seen spiritually by principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places.

Ephesians 6:10-18
Water-Man Series
1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them;
because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Do as the word of God says: (Paraphrase mine..Ephesians 6:10-18)
Take unto you the whole armour of God,girt your loins with truth,have on the breastplate of righteousness, your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, take your shield of faith and your helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God and pray with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching there unto with all perseverance  and supplication for all saints.

We are blood bought children of God. We are REDEEMED and we say so.
~Debbie

Psalm 107:2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

Revelation 12:10-11 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Warning! For Real?

The body has many parts. Yet man has the ability to mimic or copy the original very convincingly. Warning! Not all parts are real.
They represent as real when cloaked, or dressed. But when brought into the light of day, the obvious is evident. Fake. A person representing as a member in the Body of Christ Jesus can manifest the same spiritually. Man can appear as one of Christ's own yet in reality be a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Do not be deceived.
In modern society, man has the ability to create natural appearing body parts to enhance appearance...looks normal on the outside but closer inspection reveals the truth.  Usually only those close to the subject ever see the truth in the natural body, but spiritual falseness can be identified by all with godly instruction.
Scripture warns us to try all spirits and see if they be of God. Not everyone who appears to be godly or sincere is actually the real deal in reality. Without the light of God's word and His Holy Spirit it is impossible to detect an imposter.
You want to know Jesus and you want Him to know you.
When your part in the Body of Christ is examined or the fruit of your doings in this life come up before the Lord, I believe most will want to hear Him say...
Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many thing: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

~Debbie

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Christ Jesus warned..
Matthew 7:15-23  Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit: but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits Ye shall know them.

Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, that I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

1 Corinthians 12-all of it

Practice

© 2005 Debbie Turner Chavers

An encouragement to practice your God given gifts. To learn to soar with ease on the wind of His Spirit. This past week I had the privilege of watching a nest of fledglings take to the air.
Stretch your wings and learn to fly. The skill for your gift is already in you but you and I must practice. If you have ever watched a young bird learn to fly you will observe that altitude is not achieved easily at first. Very small but insistent Sparrow parents tweeted encouragement from the sidelines. Swooping in and flying away until all had left the nest.
It is hard to watch another struggle to learn how to fly. But just as God has equipped the birds of the air to fly, He has also equipped us to do what He has called and gifted us to do while on this earth.

Our teacher, the Holy Spirit of God is not on the side lines of life. He abides in us. Teaching and leading us to the Father. Stir up the gift of God within you. Pray. Go about doing good. Be about your Father's business. Be Hearers and Doers of the Word. Practice.

Being taught to fly as I practice,
~Debbie

John 14:26  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and will bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and Ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

2 Timothy 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

Romans 12
